For about 100 years, we have specialized in Raku ware, a unique type of Kyoto and Kiyomizu ware. Workshops skilled in Raku ware are extremely rare, with fewer than ten nationwide. The current, third-generation Yoshimura Rakunyuu, besides being a tea ceramics artist, also creates high-artistic-sense practical items such as matcha bowls, ornaments, and chopstick rests, utilizing the characteristics of Raku ware.

About 400 years ago, since the era of Sen no Rikyu, the tradition of cherished black and red Raku tea bowls has been preserved, while also proposing innovative everyday tableware and tiles. Yoshimura Rakunyuu utilizes the unique characteristics, softness, and distinctive texture of each piece of Raku ware for pictogram signage. By displaying these at various places such as hotels, commercial facilities, and stores, they add a message that goes beyond mere signage, conveying the strength and gentleness of the artisan’s handiwork both domestically and internationally.
