Description

Karakami is a traditional Japanese decorative paper made using a technique similar to woodblock printing, created with wooden blocks carved with a variety of patterns.

Traditionally used as fusuma (sliding door) paper to enhance Japanese interiors, karakami is now also widely used in modern spaces as wallpaper, architectural elements, and lampshades.

We offer customization options, including paper color, printing color, and original pattern designs. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries.

[Meaning of the Pattern]

This pattern is known as Kō-gasumi, referring to a mist motif resembling the katakana character "コ" (kō). In this version, the design is rendered with even longer, more graceful lines resembling the strings of a koto (Japanese harp). An elegant example of this motif can be seen in the decorative pages of the Heike Nōkyō (a National Treasure).

Remarks

Can be processed to meet non-combustible certification standards.
